Discover how geothermal heating in Ontario works
Are you interested in saving a ton of money on your energy bill? What would you think if we told you that you can invest in a heating system that will eventually pay for itself? Hopefully, you’d jump for a signup sheet.
Geothermal heating in Ontario should not be confused with geothermal power. Geothermal heating in Ontario is when we use the crust of the Earth to cool or heat your home. The ground beneath your feet stays a comfy 55 degrees throughout the year.
Let Mother Nature provide you with affordable and comfortable temperatures
When we implement a geothermal heating system, we’re using pipes to utilize the Earth’s temperature to keep your home comfortable. By inserting small pipes into the ground, we’re allowing heat to transfer to and from your house. This process allows heat to be transferred instead of created, meaning there isn’t any fuel burning.
How it works in the Winter
We’ll connect your heat pump (inside unit) to your ground loop (underground pipes) to supply you with your in-home temperature. The ground loop circulates water that absorbs heat from the Earth and sends it back to your indoor heat pump.
Your heat pump will extract the heat from the liquid and distribute it throughout your house as warm air. If we remove the heat, the water will re-circulate to collect more heat from the ground. When this happens, the loop water becomes warmer and goes back into the ground since the heat is being removed.
How it works in the summer
Your indoor heat pump will take the hot air from inside your home and remove it. This act will leave the cold air to be distributed throughout your vents like air conditioning. The heat that is removed from the air is sent back into the Earth via the ground loop. When this happens, the water is warmer leaving the house then when it returns due to the heat being rejected into it.

Geothermal heating in Ontario isn’t new or risky
This method of heating and cooling isn’t something new. The US EPA has even acknowledged geothermal systems as one of the most energy efficient, eco-friendly, and cost-effective systems on the market. This is not some bandwagon you need to research. This is the real deal and is widely used throughout Europe.
